Creative Photography by a Man in a Hat

David Martin was born in Bristol in 1970. Shortly afterwards his parents moved to Cornwall, and both pursued artistic careers - his father was a glass sculptor and his mother has successfully carved out a career as a writer with several published novels to her credit. Raised in such an environment David soon learnt to appreciate the beauty and form in nature. Inspired by both parents' photography, David was taking photographs from an early age, and spent many hours in his father's darkroom learning the tricks of the trade. This led to a job in a large commercial photography company, and his spare time was taken up with the development of his interest in creative imagery.

Encouraged by the positive comments of local galleries and artists, in 2003 he decided to launch his career as a professional photographer and cast his net further afield. Currently roaming around Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset, David has found a rich source of inspiration in the ancient Western counties.
